“Apple’s sales estimate of the new iPhone is quite aggressive. It told us to prepare to help the company meet its goal of 25 million units by the end of the year,” said another person at one of Apple’s suppliers.

“If correct, the first-month figure is about five times the number of iPhone 4 units the Cupertino, Calif Company sold during the same four-week period in 2010,” Sutherland reports.

Surrounding Apple’s next Smartphone launch, the Wall Street Journal’s report is the latest in a long line of rumors and, none of them can apparently agree on what Apple will eventually be offering. Keeping the mystery veiled. Moreover, According to the Journal’s anonymous sources, Apple has requested that “a few million units” of its next iPhone will be ready in August. Similarly, the Journal reports that those shipments could be delayed due to the new iPhone being “complicated and difficult to assemble.”

For the truth to be disclosed, all we can do is what and see whether Apple really planned to sell 25 million iphone or was it just a buzz.

25 million is less than 50 days worth of Android sales. By the end of 2011 it’ll probably be under 30 days worth of sales.

How many SINGLE android-based phones have sold anywhere close to those numbers?

I guess the question is that how many iOS devices would be out there if there were half a dozen manufacturers making them????

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
